M. Minter Passes Away _________ With the going of Dr. and Mrs. M. M. Minter t here passed from Donalsonville a great institution. For nearly half a century they have stood in the heart of our town building a family of charicter and worth, building a home of hospitality and Christian influence, and building a finer and more worthwhile town. Mrs. Eva Funderburke Minter wife of the late Dr. M. M. Minter, died on March 17th 1945 at Donal- sonville, just five months after the death of her beloved husband. The funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazerene on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, March 18th. The attractive little church was banked in flowers sent as a last token of devotion. The Rev. Doyle C. Smith, her pastor, officiated at t h e services, assisted by Rev. Whitt Aiken, Baptist Minister, the Rev. M. C. Liddell, Presbyterian Minister, and t h e Rev. Anthony Hearn, Methodist District Super- intendent of Thomasville. Rev. B. E. LeJune, Nazarene Minister of Bainbridge, accompaniedat t h e Piano Mr. Clark Mosley, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross", M r s. C. D. Thmoas (sic) who sang "No Night There", and Jesse J. Morris, of Emory University School of Den- tistry, who sang "After". Active Pallbearers were R. M. Holman, P. E. Shingler, John Lee Drake Julian Webb, Y. L. Roberts, J. L. Barber, Jr. B. B. Clarke and C. D. Thomas. Mrs. Minter was born at Lela in this county and came as a bride in 1904 to Donalsonville. For many years she operated t h e Minter House, where all who came found a a warm welcome, a cheerful word of encouragement and advice, and a christian influence. To her fami- ly she gave unselfish devotion and service. Her children are all liv- ing monuments o f character and leadership and christianity result- ing from her lifetime of training and example. The first thought which comes in thinking o f Cousin Eva, Miss Eva, Aunt Eva, o r "Ma Minter", a s she was affectionately known, was h e constant love for her Christ. It was the foremost qual- ity in her personality. She was so full of the love of God that it just spilled over onto all those who came in contact with her and made .............
