Horace E. Cumbie

Horace E. Cumbie, 81, of 4016 Lyn Drive, Columbus, died Thursday at Pine Manor 
Nursing Home.

The grave side funeral will be 2 p . m. today at Parkhill Cemetery, according 
to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus.

Mr. Cumbie was born Feb. 7, 1912, in Donalsonville, Ga., the son of Duffy and 
Lillie Gray Cumbie.  He retired in 1974 from the Archer Hosiery Mill after 40 
years as a knitter.  He was a member of Sherwood United Methodist Church and 
the widower of Rosa Lee Cumbie.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Cumbie of Eufaula, Ala., Jimmy Cumbie of 
Fortson, and Billy Cumbie of Columbus; three daughters, Pat McKinnon of 
Orlando, Fla.; Mary Frances Webb of Columbus, and Judy Worley of Cerro Gordo, 
N. C.; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
