Ga. It has been basically lost for years as Spalding Co. and Spalding County had no records of it. I hope you will get it on GenWeb. as previously noted. That was my main goal, so it would not be lost. There are many unmarked graves here, with only 6 stones. One stone is not readable. Not sure what other info you want, but you may take whatever I have included and use as you deem to be appropriate. The Heron Bay subdivision sets on the county lines of Henry and Spalding counties. This cemetery is in Spalding County. The family information is documented in census records, death certificates, ancestry, obituaries, other records, and a living relative of the Woodards. Guesses by some that the cemetery dates back to 1860's but not confirmed. The land the cemetery is on, was owned at one time by Marcellus Woodard. He descended from a slave family. Marcellus was married to Susie ? and had a large family of 6 girls and 3 boys. He later married Eula? and had one child. The burial place for Marcellus and Eula is unknown. One of their children is Lavonia, who married Lawyer Taylor. Mr. Taylor was the first African-American to graduate from Northwestern University. He was later a professor of mathematics and physics and registrar, at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta. They lived on the Clark campus for 30 years. This family was well educated, well accomplished, and traveled the world. Info on stones is transcribed exactly) The Woodard Cemetery - transcribed 2012. Location: Luella Community, on Ga.
