Left camp near Richmond, Virginia for Wilmington, North Carolina July 10, 1863, and arrived there July 13, when they marched seventeen miles to camp. Ordered to Charleston, South Carolina August 9, 1863 and arrived there August 10, when they marched to James Island. A portion of this company left for Fort Sumter, South Carolina August 25, 1863, and the remainder was ordered to Morris Island, South Carolina to relieve the 23rd Regiment Georgia Infantry, the 20th Regiment South Carolina Infantry and the 8th Regiment North Carolina Infantry.
