Crittenden, of our county, on his return from Macon on Thursday last, per Macon & Western Railroad, was robbed of $800 in cash, which the thief extracted from his pantaloons pocket by cutting a hole, and by this means obtained the money, which was rolled up in a piece of paper. He states that an irresistible propensity to sleep came over him, while on the cars, to which he yielded, and supposes he slept for an hour. During this time he thinks the robbery was perpetrated. It is presumable that he was placed under the influence of chloroform, which produced the drowsy sensation he experienced. It is getting to be hazardous for a man to travel on the Railroads with any money in his pockets. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
