Griffin, Georgia Col. Frank Ison closed up his bar last night and retired from business on account of his health. He was probably the oldest businessman in Griffin, having commenced business here on Monday, May 4, 1844, and being in business ever since except during the war and a couple of years afterward. While it is his health that compels him to retire, since he suffers from a severe fall received in his yard a couple of weeks ago, he is fortunately the possessor of a sufficient competency, mostly in Griffin real estate, to live comfortably the rest of his life.
