June 25, 1891 "People generally have a confused idea," remarked City Tax Collector Griffin, yesterday, "about registration, due to the fact that the mode of registration for city elections is different from that for county and state elections. "Under the Rice law, a duplicate of the Cobb county law, when a man pays his county and state taxes he is registered. "Under the Hutchison law for city registration, a man must register, aside from the payment of his taxes. A man can register without paying his taxes for the year, and is given from the 1st of June to the 20th of November to register. "The number registered for the city elections, so far, is about 500."
