Of Captain Andrews The News and Sun of this morning says: “The immediate cause of his death was from the effects of a wound received in the battle of Chickamauga on the 9th of September, 1862, while gallantly fighting at the head of his company. Captain Andrews was an excellent officer and through soldier, and could he have rejoined his command would have risen even higher in rank in the army.” He went out as junior second lieutenant with Company F of Butts county, Thirtieth Georgia regiment. He was promoted to the captaincy of his company on May 9, 1862, for valiant service. F, upon reorganization in 1862): Andrews, Robert Jesse, 2d. Lieutenant September 25, 1861. Elected Captain May 14, 1862. Wounded and permanently disabled at Chickamauga, Ga. September 19, 1863.
