Ellis, 83, Confederate veteran, who died Wednesday afternoon at the Confederate Soldiers’ home will be held this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the chapel of H.M. Patterson and Son. The Rev. George L. King, chaplain of the home will officiate and interment will be in the Marietta cemetery. A native of Spalding county, Mr. Ellis enlisted in the Confederate army March 19, 1862 and was a private in the Second Georgia cavalry. He saw service in the battles of Fort Donaldson, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Franklin and Atlanta. He was wounded in the battle of Franklin but continued to serve until Lee’s surrender.
