F. Strickland, Dead Mr. R. F. Strickland, one of the most prominent men in Spalding County and of the city of Griffin died at his home last Sunday morning at one-thirty. He was a son of the late Isaac Strickland, of concord, and lived in this county until grown, when he moved to Griffin, where he has resided since. He was one of the city's successful men and was one of her most prominent merchants. He married a Miss Emma Head, and to them were born several children, all of whom died in infancy except one son, who grew to manhood and died while attending college in Athens, Ga. He leaves his wife, a sister-in-law, who has lived with the family, together with three brothers, one sister and hosts of kindred and friends, to mourn his passing. A good and just man has fallen, a true husband is gone, and an honest citizen is no more. Peace to his ashes and may God rest his soul. Additional Comments: Robert was the son of Isaac Strickland and Mary Hartsfield Strickland. His wife, Emma E Head Strickland, was the daughter of Dr. James Daniel Head and Nancy Underwood Head of Butts County.
