Mrs. Foster Dies, Rites To Be Sunday

Mrs. Mary Vinson Foster of 220  North 13th street, died at 3 o'clock this 
morning at the Griffin-Spalding County Hospital.  Her death followed a short 
illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Spalding County and the daughter of Mr. A.W. 
Vinson and the late Mrs. Anna Dorton Vinson.  
Until her retirement in July 1953, she was employed by Thomaston Mills, 
Griffin Division as an inspector.
She was a member of the second Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Second 
Baptist Church.  The Rev. Carl Peacock and the Rev G.A. Middlebrooks will 
officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Z.L. Foster, a daughter, Miss Opal Foster of 
Griffin; three sons, Charles Foster, Beckley, West Virginia, Sgt. Virgil 
Foster, Anchorage, Alaska, Jimmy Foster, Griffin; her father, A.W. Vinson of 
Griffin; one brother, Jerry Vinson, Griffin; three sisters, Mrs. Sally 
Elliott, Mrs. Charlotte Banford, Griffin; and Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Atlanta; 
five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Foster's body will remain at Haisten's funeral home until Saturday 
afternoon at 5 o'clock when it will be carried to her residence.
