Mrs. Martha Ellen Moorefield Hewitt,66,of 4161 Old Atlanta Road, died Friday
afternoon at AMI Griffin-Spalding Hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Butler and the Rev. Greg
Huffman will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Mausoleum. Mrs.
Hewitt was a native of Reidsville, N.C. but had lived in Griffin for the past 38
years. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church. Mrs. Hewitt is survived by her
husband, Jim Hewitt; a daughter, Miss Rosa Hewitt of Forest Park; son, Joel
Hewitt of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs.Penny Green and Mrs.Bessie Roberts both of
Reidsville, N.C.; a brother, Bluford Moorefield of Kissimmee, Fla.; nieces and
nephews. Friends may visit the family tonight from 7-9 o'clock at the funeral
home. Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge.

She was the daughter of John William and Rosa Reid Moorefield of Reidsville N.C.

She had a daughter Rebecca Nance from her first marriage to Fred Nance of the
Reidsville N.C. Danville Va. area.

Her children mentioned in the obit came from her second marriage to Searle E.
Newbern of Willachoochee Ga.
