                            Mrs. Howell

 Mrs. Agnes Marie Chasteen Howell of Orchard Hill died yesterday morning at the 
Griffin-Spalding Hospital. She had been a patient there for a week.

 She was born in Henry County and moved to Griffin 40 years ago.

 She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jesse D. Chasteen and Mrs. Agnes Kathleen 
Smith Chasteen. Mrs. Howell was employed at Supreme Manufacturing Company. She 
was a member of the Orchard Hill Baptist Church. 

 Survivors include her husband Mr. Elbert G. Howell; five daughters, Mrs. Susan 
Manley, Miss Kathi Howell, and Mrs. Debra Howell, all of Griffin, Mrs. Edith 
Davidson of Monroe, and Mrs. Cynthia Bryan of Athens; a son, keith Howell of 
Griffin; mother, Mrs. Kathleen Smith Chasteen of Locust Grove; three sisters, 
Mrs. Corine Holcombe and Mrs. Kathryn Bethune, both of Griffin and Mrs. Mae 
Hurford of Chandler, Ind.; seven brothers, Homer Chasteen and Chandler 
Chasteen, both of Griffin, Harold Chasteen of Port Arthur, Texas, Andrew 
Chasteen of Locust Grove, James Chasteen of Forest Park, Bonnell Chasteen of 
Chula Vista, Calif. and Chesley Chasteen of Rockledge, Fla.; and four 
grandchildren.

 The funeral will be tomorrow at 2:30pm from the Orchard Hill Baptist Church. 
The Rev. Charles Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 The body will remain at Pittman-Rawls Funeral Home until carried to the church 
to lie in state from 2 o'clock until the funeral.
