Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Bennett officiated. Interment was held in Glenwood Cemetery. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Howell was a native of Talbot County. She had been a resident of Upson County for 65 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Thomaston Garden Club and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Alton Howell Sr. of Thomaston; two daughters, Mrs. Bobbie H. Gordon of Cullman, Ala. and Mrs. Kay H. Brown (Bowen) of Griffin; son, Mr. Al Howell of Thomaston; brother, Mr. Ben Ferguson of Thomaston. Six grandchildren, Mr. Jimmy Gordon of Birmingham, Ala., Mr. Joe and Miss Julie Gordon, both of Cullman, Ala., Mr. Ben and Mr. Rob Bowen, both of Griffin and Mr. Blake Howell of El Paso, Texas also survive.
