Griffin, Georgia, Thursday Morning, October 18, 1888 Yesterday morning the last remains of Judge Reuben Holt Herndon, of Decatur, Ala., were interred in the Griffin Cemetery from the residence of Dr. N.B. Drewery. Mr. Herndon was an octogenarian, having passed into his four score years. He was a native of Virginia, and his family is one of note in that state. His uncle was that famous Lieutenant Herndon who went down at sea refusing to abandon his post of duty. He was also a cousin to President Arthur's wife. Mr. Herndon leaves a wife and one child, a daughter, who is Mrs. N.B. Drewery of this place.
