The name of the newspaper, and alas date of obit / marriage announcement is not given in most cases.** Mr. J.C. MATTHEWS IS CALLED BY DEATH Mr. Johnny Clarence Matthews, prominent Spalding county resident, died at his home in Sunny Side Wednesday night at 10:30 o'clock, following a serious illness of more than three months. He was 58 years of age. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Matthews, he was a prominent farmer and had been living in this part of Georgia all his life. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Shiloh Methodist church in Sunny Side. Rev. A. E. Silvey, the pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the city cemetery at Senoia with Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, in charge. Pallbearers will be Ed Elder, R. H. Darsey, W. S. Brewster, K. A. Barfield, Ray Spangler and W. B. Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be J. A. Darsey, Henry Minter, W. A. Coker, W. H. Starr, R. L. Elder, I. M. Haisten, P. J. Mitchell and Y. S. B. Gray. Surviving Mr. Mathews are his widow, Mrs. Annie Zell Matthews; three sons, James Matthews of Griffin, and Frank W. and J. C. Matthews, Jr. of the Hawaiian Islands; one brother, S. F. Matthews, of Brooks; and four sisters, Mrs. W. M. Keith, of Atlanta, Mrs. L. T. Roberts, of Fayetteville, Mrs. Henry Bowen, of Ben Hill, Ga., and Miss Clyde Matthews, of Fayetteville.
