The Griffin Daily News. Griffin, Georgia, Friday Morning, January 18, 1889

Mrs. H.G. Johnson the aged mother of our esteemed fellow townsman, Judge C.H. 
Johnson, Sr. died at his residence yesterday morning at 8 1/2 o'clock. She was a

very estimable lady, possessing many of the finer traits of perfect Christian 
womanhood, and whose earthly presence had stood out like a shining light, during

the many years of her useful life. She leaves a very large family of children, 
grand and great grand children and very many friends who mourn her loss as one 
gone before. She was 88 years of age.
