Mitchell Dies At Advanced Age Was Member of Prominent Middle Georgia Family and Was Held in High Esteem by Everybody. Mrs. John H Mitchell died at her home in Cabins district Thursday night at 9:30 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. The deceased was a member of a prominent Middle Georgia family and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. She was an excellent Christian woman with many lovely traits and her death was the occasion of genuine sorrow among a large circle of friends. Mrs. Mitchell was formerly Miss Freeman and was born in Senoia, Coweta county, Georgia, December 1, 1841. She was married to Mr. John H. Mitchell, December 5, 1858. Mr. Mitchell died some four years ago. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. H. Walker, of Griffin, one brother, Judge Robert Freeman, of Newnan, and also leaves other relatives to mourn her loss and cherish her memory. The funeral services will be held at Mrs. Mitchell's late home Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. L. G. Walker, of Union Baptist church, of which she was a member. Rev. J. E. Sammons, of Griffin, will assist in the services. The interment will be made in the family burying ground in Cabin district.
