Griffin, Georgia, Sunday Morning, May 20, 1888 Funeral of C.B. Smith Yesterday morning at the Episcopal church, the funeral of one of the best and truest citizens that Griffin has ever known, took place. It was the last rite over the body of C.B. Smith. At 8 o'clock the hearse reached the church, the pall bearers being Messrs. J.D. Boyd, C.H. Westbrook, M.J. Patrick, J.B. Mills, S.H. Deane and J.P. Sawtell, all Masons. Rev. C. Dowe preached an impressive sermon to a large congregation. C.B. Smith is dead, but his memory will ever live in the hearts of the people of Griffin and Spalding county.
