They probably subscribed to a GA newspaper(s), but these may just be articles sent them by people 'back home'. She was from Calhoun (Gordon Co.) and he from Sunnyside. STARR'S FUNERAL MONDAY James Pierce Starr, 55, of 1395 Emory Road, N.E., vice president of the J. W. Starr Lumber Company, died Friday night at his home after an illness of five months. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Druid Hills Methodist Church with Bishop Arthur J. Moore and the Rev. Fred Chenault officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Born in Spalding County, he moved to Atlanta as a child and resided here most of his life. He was a member of the Druid Hills Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class, the board of stewards, the Ben Hill Lodge No. 674, F, and A. M., the West End Civitan Club, the West End Businessmen's Club and also the DeKalb Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Sergeant James William Starr, Captain Gordon Harp Starr, Air Corps, of Louisville, Ky., and Raymond Pierce Starr, of New Orleans; one brother, John Henry Starr,; one sister, Mrs. W. C. Waters; two grandchildren, Nancy [torn] Starr, and Roy Pierce Starr, both of New Orleans; a brother-in-law William Curtis Jones of Dallas and an uncle, J. D. Coleman.
