Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, February 18, 1898 H.C. Allen Marries Mr. H.C. Allen, formerly of this county, but now one of Quitman’s popular hotel men, was married on Thursday of last week to Mrs. B.F. Thomas. Mr. Allen has many friends in Pike who extend to him their best wishes. The Macon Telegraph last Friday contained the following special concerning the marriage: Quitman, Ga., Feb. 10. - A wedding of some note and beautiful in detail occurred at 8 o’clock tonight at the suburban home of Mr. G.W. Averett of this city. The contracting parties were Mr. H.C. Allen, the manager of the Marie hotel of this city, and Mrs. B.F. Thomas of Decatur county. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Bascom Sentel of this city in the presence of a few friends. The bride, the widow of the late C.H. Thomas of Decatur, and before her marriage a Miss Folsom of Florida, is a second cousin of Mrs. Grover Cleveland. She is a lady of charming character, mind, and person. Mr. Allen came from Griffin, Ga., to this city two years ago, and has since that time been in charge of the leading hotel here. They are both popular in Quitman and congratulations of a host of friends are tendered them.
