The Griffin Daily News. Griffin, Georgia, Wednesday Morning, June 6, 1888

Mr. J.H. Powell leaves this morning at 8:20 for Macon, where at 12:30 he will be

married to Miss Lizzie L. Steele. The wedding will be at the residence of the 
bride's grandfather, Maj. M.R. Rogers, and will be attended only by a few 
friends and relatives. At four o'clock the happy couple will return to this 
place and repair to the residence of Mr. W.H. Powell, where the groom has had 
apartments elegantly furnished. Mr. Powell is one of our most energetic, 
enterprising and successful citizens, the bride is lovely and charming, and we 
wish both much happiness.
