The Georgia Enterprise February 2, 1900
     Senator A. O. BACON, Georgia’s senior Senator, delivered one of the 
strongest and most powerful speeches in the Senate Tuesday, that has been heard 
in that body in years. Senator BACON is regarded by Democrats and Republicans 
alike, one of the strongest men in that body. He is a man that Georgia and the 
South is proud of, and this speech will serve as a text for democratic doctrine 
in the approaching campaign. He did not mince words in regard to the Republican 
party, and the mode of conducting our army and possessions across the waters.
