                        GOVERNOR  ATKINSON'S MEXICO TRIP
                              Savannah Morning News
                                 2 January 1898
     Gov. Atkinson and party left for Mexico yesterday. The party is composed of
the following: Gov. and Mrs. Atkinson, Miss Lucile Atkinson; T. A. Atkinson,
Lagrange: Dr. E. C. Davis; Mrs. J. S. Candler; Capt. O. J. Brown; W. A. Knowles,
of Rome; P. A. Stovall of Savannah; and Bowdre Phinzy of Augusta. The governor
took with him Heard, the colored porter, who has been with him during his term
as chief executive.
