The Dawson News does not take kindly to the suggestion for postmasterial primaries. It thinks it is the congressman's duty to select good postmasters for his constituents and that he should not be allowed to shirk it. W. M. Jones of Wilcox county killed a hog last week believed to be the largest ever killed in that section of the state, says the Abbeville Chronicle. The animal was three years old and weighed 832 pounds. The $2,000,000.00 dam of the Columbus Power Company across the Chattahoochee river at Goat Rock has been completed and elaborate ceremonies will mark the formal opening December 19th. Ultimately the company will be able to furnish 40,000 horse power to industries in that section although only about one fifth that amount will be used at present. Te Cordele Rambler is insistent on a gubernatorial candidate from South Georgia. It suggests Col. C. R. Pendleton of the Macon Telegraph. Col. Pendleton is first class gubernatorial material, but he has consistently declined to become a candidate for any office. Tattnall County Adviser: the corn and poultry show held at Reidsville last week was a success from every standpoint and we hope that this is only a fore runner of many other events of this nature and that they are a great help to any county, none will dispute. Charlton County Hearld: A. J. Walker, one of the county's oldest citizens died at his home near here quite suddenly last Friday. Deceased was in his eighty-second years at the time of his death, and had lived in this section all his life. he is survived by his wife, who is about 80 years of age, and one daughter, Mrs. John Swearegen of Fargo, Ga.
