Toccoa--J.D. Fowler, 72, of 350 Mize Rd., husband of Mrs. Viola Segars Fowler, 
died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1989, at his home.

Born in Stephens County, he was a son of Henry C. Fowler of Toccoa and the late 
Mrs. Mattie Evans Fowler. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mountain View 
Baptist Church at Baldwin.

Surviving are father; wife; daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Laverne) Carlan, Mrs. Tex 
(Evelyn) Murray, Mrs. Larry (Helen) Ledford and Mrs. Wade (Martha) Ivester of 
Toccoa; brothers, John Fowler of Eastanollee, George Fowler, Nish Fowler and 
Watson Fowler of Toccoa; sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cheek, Mrs. Grace Sellers, and Mrs. 
Geneva Rogers of Toccoa, five grandchildren; five-great-grandchildren.

Services were at 2p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Hunters Creek Baptist Church by the 
Revs. Joe Haskett, Luther Williams and Newt Phillips. Burial was in the church 
cemetery.

Acree-Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
