Rufus Harding is active in the First Methodist Church where he served as a 
Steward and Trustee. He is a member of the Toccoa Kiwanis Club and has been 
president of that organization. He was one of the men instrumental in 
establishing a hospital in Stephens County in 1936. He was on the first 
Hospital Authority and served as Secretary-Treasurer for 22 years. He is 
president and owner of
Harding Insurance Company.

Mrs. Harding is a member of the First Methodist Church and has held many 
offices in the Women's Society. She is an active member of the Toccoa Garden 
Club and a former member of the Toccoa Women's Club. Mr. and Mrs. Harding are 
charter members of the Toccoa Country Club. They have two sons: 4-1 Bill 
HARDING who is in theinsurance business in Sandy Springs, GA; and 4-2 Rocky 
HARDING m. Connie WHITEHEAD and is in business with his father in Toccoa.
