(Nathan) Kesler, age 53, well-known Stephens County citizen died at the Lawson General Hospital at 9:30 Saturday, February 18, 1950 following an extended illness. A son of the late George & Frances Miller Kesler, he was a native of Franklin County where he was born Jan 8, 1897 and spent most of his life in this section. He was a veteran of World War I and a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of Prospect Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Leo Gulley Kesler and his children Mrs. Ted (Ovalene) Hardman, Edward, Alvin, Carroll and Dwayne Kesler and a number of brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held February 20 at 3:00 PM form the Prospect Methodist Churc with the Revs. John Ellis and Dwight smith officiating. Song selections are "I'll Meet You in the Morning", "Death is Only a Dream" and "Gathering Buds for the Master's Bouquet". Pallbearers are Bob Acree, Ank Carlton, Dick Barron, Olin Teasley, Gus Smith and Lonzo Smith. The body will lie in state at the residence in the Tom's Creek Community until 2:00 PM Monday when the funeral party will leave for the church. Internment in Prospect Church Cemetery.
