Mr. Pierce came to Toccoa from Driver, VA, some 20 years ago with a construction crew in connection with the building of the Yonah Dam for the Georgia Power Company, and has since that time, made his home here. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge # 309, and was a member of Providence Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mr. Jimmie Turnbull Pierce; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Pierce of Driver, VA; 5 brothers, Clarence Pierce of Greensboro, NC, Milton Pierce and Clifton Pierce, both of Portsmouth, VA, Lloyd Pierce of Norfolk VA and Frank Pierce, Jr. of Great Bridge, VA; 3 sisters, Miss Bernice Pierce and Miss Dorothy Pierce, both of Greensboro, NC and Mrs. Donald Lang, of Kane, PA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. from Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. John Ellis and Rev. Kelly Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Methodist Church Cemetery.
