Swain Poole
Toccoa, Ga. - Swain Jolly Poole, 79, of 342 Edwards Street, died Tuesday, 
August 4, 1992, at Stephens County Hospital.

Born in Banks County, he was retired from Matheson Furniture Company and was a 
member and a deacon of Hill Street Baptist Church, in which he was a member of 
James Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his widow, Aleene English Poole of the home; daughters, Mildred 
Grafton of Toccoa and Margaret James of Cornelia; son, Jerry Poole of Toccoa; 
brother, Reeves Poole of Toccoa; sisters, Leora Meeks and Elois Hallford of 
Toccoa, Thelme Goode of Barnwell, SC and Opel Whitt of Pelzer, SC; five 
grandchildren.

He was a son of the late Phillip Luther and Sally Ausburn Poole.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitlock Mortuary chapel by the Revs. 
Jarrett Ragan and Talmadge Chandler; burial will be in Stephens Memorial 
Gardens.  The body is at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends 
from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.  The family is at the home on Edwards 
Street.
