He was a son of the late C. D. and Leola Roberts Segars. Born in Franklin County, he spent most of his life in Toccoa and Stephens County. Prior to his death, he was affiliated with Coats & Clark in Toccoa. He was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. John Richards, Mrs. Frank Osborne, Mrs. Wayne Farmer and Mrs. Johnny Nations of Toccoa, Mrs. Earl Adderholt, Jr., of Eastanollee; sons, Joe, Dan, Dallas, Allen, Charles, Wayne; Bobby and Adam Segars of Toccoa, Roger Segars of Cornelia; sisters, Mrs. Percy Martin, Mrs. Charlie Payne, Mrs. Hurley Brown and Mrs. Roy Murray of Carnesville, Mrs. Otis Ross of Lincolnton, N.C., Mrs. Loyd Auten of Covington, Mrs. Beulah Wallace of Harbor City, Calif.; brothers, Wade Segars of Toccoa, Curtis Segars of Martin, Henry Segars of Homer, D.B.Segars of Rutherfordton, N.C., Freeman Segars of Townsend, Del, Elmer Segars of St. George, Del., 15 grandchildren. Services at 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Toccoa Baptist Church by the Revs. Ernest Ivester and Robert Willis. Burial in Toccoa Cemetery. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge.
