C. Simpson, Jr. The sad news that death had claimed William Calvin Simpson, Jr., was received here Sunday, he having died in an Atlanta hospital at an early hour that morning, after an illness of about three months. Deceased was in his 37th year, having been born in this city March 17th, 1883, the son of the late W. C. Simpson, Sr., and Mamie Jarrett Simpson. For several years prior to his failing health he had been employed as an engineer on the Atlanta-Charlotte division of the Southern Railway, and was always faithful to the duties of that important occupation, where skill and conscientions devotion to duty is required. "W. C.," as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was united in marriage to Miss Vivian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Capps, of this city, Feb. 11th, 1911. Shortly after this event they moved to Atlanta, where they have since resided. In early life deceased united with the Toccoa Presbyterian church, and always lived a consistent Christian life. In addition to his widow and mother, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jim Thomson, of Anderson, S.C., and four brothers: Rev. John A. Simpson, of Commerce, Robert, of Atlanta, and Frank and Charlie, of Toccoa. Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. C. M. Chumbley. The family have the deep sympathy of the community in the passing of "W. C.," the fourth member within a few months. The father, W. C., Sr., died less that a year ago, while two brothers, Devereaux and Archie, gave up their lives in the military service of their country shortly before the Armistice was declared.
