Mar. 17, 1932 Scores of sorrowing friends and relatives assembled at the Cooper home in Avalon Tuesday morning to attend the last rites for MRS. ETHEL COOPER WINSOR, who died at a private hospital in Royston Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. She had been in ill health for about two months and her death cast a pall of sadness over this entire community where she was deeply loved and honored, as well as with a circle of friends in Norfolk, VA, where she and Mr. Winsor made their home. Mrs. Winsor, a daughter of the late Rev. W. A. Cooper, was a woman of culture, refinement and lovely personality. Surviving are her husband, A. G. Winsor and son George Cooper, of Norfolk, VA; 3 sisters, Lula, Margaret and Buna Cooper, and 1 brother, Paul Cooper, all of Avalon. Impressive services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at the residence at Avalon with rev. G. H. Bailey and Rev. P. H. Stokes officiating. Interment was in the family plot at Confidence. Beautiful floral offerings in profusion bore mute evidence of love and esteem of scores of friends here and elsewhere. A sweet song service was rendered by Mrs. L. O. Lipscomb, Miss Ruth Barron and Miss Jewel Hayes. Pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Hayes, Harry Matheson, William Bailey, John Crawford, C. H. Patterson and Mark Bolding. McNeely and Lipscomb Co.
