Murrah Succumbs to Illness, Funeral Held Monday Funeral services for Joseph Clanton Murrah, 63, who died at 6:26 a.m. Sunday at his home in Richland, were held Monday afternoon, 4 0'clock at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. J. M. Carmichael assisted by the Rev. Edward Holloway, conducting the services, John M. Anglin, solist, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", accompanied by Mrs. E. W. Richardson, organist. Mr. Murrah had been in declining health for the past several months and retired sometime ago from a position he had held with the Richland Auto Company, because of ill health. He is the son of the late Homer and Lucia Polk Murrah of Stewart Company and was a member of the Macondonia Baptist Church, Webster, County. He was employed for about nineteen years in the Mechanical Department of Richland Auto Company and was a lifelong resident of Stewart and Webster Counties. Mr. Murrah possessed a quiet, unasuming manner, and was kind and considerate to everyone. He was a good father and will be missed by a host of friends and relatives. Survivors include his widow the former Alvia Felts, two sons, Jack, Inglewood, Ca; and Johnny Murrah of Richland; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Lane, Albany, and Mrs. Helen Driggers, Richland; eight grandchildren and two Aunts, Mrs. Florence Dunn, Rome, and Mrs Mozelle Kiser, Preston.
