Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Tante Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Ford and Nicholas Page officiating. Music was provided by Brenda Humber. Burial immediately followed in the Buena Vista City Cemetery. The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home Tuesday evening. Serving as pallbearers were Ray Page Jr., Scottie Page, Quinton Wood, Michael Brady, Bart Pond, Dennis Thompson and Jimmy Pond. Mr. Page was born April 4, 1936, in Stewart County, Georgia to Julian Grady and Jessie Bussey Page. Baptist by faith, he was a member of Omaha Baptist Church. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia. He was a forester with Georgia Kraft Company, which brought him to Buena Vista where he met and married his wife, Mary Jo Brady Page. He owned Page’s TV and Appliance Retail Store. He was an active advocate for developmental disabilities. He built the Little Log Chapel on Hartage Ford Road in Marion County. He loved people, especially those less fortunate. His hobbies included sugar cane syrup making and farming and he was known for the best tasting sweet potatoes near and far. He was a Mason and a member of the Cusseta Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Julian Brady Page, Jr. and by a nephew, Julian Grady Page III. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Jo Brady Page, of Buena Vista, two sons, Charles Nathan Page, Jr. and Paul Brady Page, both of Rose Haven Intermediate Care in Thomasville, GA; one brother, Raymond Page of Louvale, GA; one sister, Frances Page Travis, of Columbus, GA; one sister-in-law, Betsy Brady Pond (Jimmy) of Americus, GA; one brother-in-law, Billy Brady (Ginny) of Warner Robins, GA; three nieces, Robin Page Wood (Quinton), Page Travis Sobek (Dave), and Connie Page Juhan (Danny), five nephews, Ray Page, Jr., Scottie Page, Larry Travis, Michael Brady (Elizabeth), and Bart Pond; great nieces, Jessica Juhan, Crystal Pilkauskas (Jim), Ashley Page Davis (Nathan), Andrea Page, Stephanie and Belinda Brady, and great-nephews, Nicholas Page (Kimberly),David Page, David Sobek and John Brady, along with several great- great nephews and nieces.
