The back this photo said "Family of Dr. George W. Brooks, Lumpkin GA, Stewart 
Co, taken 1866-1867 - Grandmother Stallings Parents"
 
I do know that George's daughter Aurora Brooks (on the left) went on to marry 
Lumpkin Stallings, and their son Lawrence Tucker Stallings (WW1 vet, author & 
hollywood writer back in the day) married Helen Poteat from North Carolina, 
having met in college at Wake Forest in the 1910's.
 
Going backwards from Aurora, I'm wondering if anyone else might have details on 
George's life and family.  The 1870 census has him with his wife Sarah P and 
daughters Aurora (7) and Wimphie (sp?) about age 5 there in Lumpkin...
