Elam Vorus, is my 4th great grandfather. He came from the Little Falls, NY area 
around 1838 and settled in Lumpkin where he started a very successful grist 
mill. He married Mary Ann Starr from Charleston, SC. The family stayed in the 
area until the early 1900's at which time they moved to Sumter County, 
Americus, GA. There are Vorus's buried at the Eastside cemetery there in 
Lumpkin...Melanie
