Don’t Like Texas

Gus Harris and family, and Mr. Daniel James, returned from Texas yesterday, 
after a twelve months residence in that fabled land of milk and honey.  Gus 
says that if the Lord will forgive him for ever having left the old red hills 
of Georgia for that forsaken, desert waste, that he will eat grasshoppers and 
drink pond water for the balance of his life before he will ever move again.  
Verily Texas has no charms for him now. – Americus Recorder
