The Weekly Constitution, Atlanta, Ga. October 21, 1879
Miss Mary Jane Snellgrove, a well known and highly esteemed young lady of 
Sumter county, committed suicide recently by taking strychnine. She had 
recently joined the church and gave no reason for her course save that she 
had "so much trouble".
