H. Slappey, Jr., who was recently taken to the insane asylum having been adjudged a lunatic is not the R. H. Slappey, who has lived so long in Sumter county, but is a younger man and a cousin to him, having been raised by him. A mistake has arisen out of the two names, many believing that R. H. Slappey, Sr., is the lunatic. But this is not the case. R. H. Slappey, Jr., is only about twenty-three years of age, and on attaining his majority came into possession of a very large property. Since which time he has been enlarging his business, building a gin house, and was preparing to go into a stock farm. The pressure of so much business dethroned his reason and he is now in the best place that a lunatic could be. It is a most unfortunate occurrence, one in which two names and two persons are so mixed that mistakes will arise. The senior Mr. R. H. Slappey, is in good sound mind, at home attending to his business.
