Dr. T.D. Ellis, former pastor of Mulberry Street Methodist Church, now Methodist Church extension secretary with headquarters in Louisville, Ky., died this morning at Louisville. She had been ill for some time. News of her death was received early today by Mrs. Sam L. Orr, a daughter-in-law. The body was carried to Americus for funeral and interment. News of Mrs. Ellis’ death came as a shock to her many friends in Macon, where she lived for many years. Dr. Ellis is one of the best known ministers in the state and has many friends throughout this section. Mrs. Ellis besides her husband leaves one son, David Ellis, of Macon, who is connected with the law firm of Jones, Parks and Johnston. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. F.G. Branch, president of Andrew College and one sister, Mrs. F.F. Wynn, of Cuthbert, Ga. She was the daughter of Rev. F.A. Branch, a Methodist minister.
