Solicitor Charles B. Hudson, who has so long and ably filled the position of 
State’s solicitor for the Southwestern circuit, died suddenly on Friday March 
23rd at his home in Americus, after a brief illness of only a day or two.  Col. 
Hudson was about 60 years of age and had taxed his energies so severely in the 
Hinkle trial that he was much prostrated by the relaxation.  Governor Northen 
has appointed Hon. Jas. M .Dupree of Montezuma, as Col. Hudson’s successor.
