State News Items

Sykie Hudson, who killed Millie Potter, both colored, on Colonel G.W. Thomas’s 
plantation in Sumter County on the 7th instant, was convicted of murder and 
sentenced to hang on the 17th of June.  It is hardly expected that she will 
hang on that day as her case will go to the Supreme Court.
