The announcement yesterday of the sudden death of Mr. Boss Potter was a shock to his friends and caused universal regret. Mr. Potter was a widely known and successful farmer residing near Americus, and was held in highest esteem among his acquaintances. Yesterday morning it was observed by Mrs. Potter that he was in a comatose state, and he died without regaining consciousness. Mr. Potter was 54 years of age, and is survived by his wife, three grown sons and a daughter. The deceased was a gallant and brave Confederate solider and for years an officer of Camp Sumter, U. C. V.
