Lonnie Stokes Dead

Lonnie Stokes died at the home of his father at Americus last Sunday night of 
typho-malarial fever, after an illness of about two weeks.  His remains were 
brought to Buena Vista Monday afternoon and interred in the Baptist cemetery 
Tuesday morning in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives.  
Lon was about seventeen years of age, was a good boy and a fine business young 
fellow.  The bereaved family have the sympathies of the Patriot and the entire 
community in their great affliction.

Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Stokes, 
Misses Evie and Hattie Stokes and Mrs. W.A. McNeal, of Americus, came up Monday 
afternoon to attend the burial of Lonnie Stokes and returned home Tuesday 
morning.
