Sims, Lewis Willis “Bud”
(Barnum Funeral Home) August 1997  Mr. Sims died July 28, 1997 at Sumter 
Regional Hospital in Americus, GA.  Funeral services for Mr. Sims of 535 Small 
Pierce Road, Plains, GA, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 02, 1997 at 
the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Reverend Leonard Boston officiating.  Burial in 
the church cemetery.  He was born in Sumter County, GA on May 23, 1916 to the 
parentage of the late Sammy Lee and Doshia Mae Solomon Sims.  Survivors 
include 7 daughters, Ms Catherine (Austin) Poole, Ms Georgia Lee (Wilbert) 
Mitchell, Ms Minnie Lee (Alton) Davis, Ms Martha Kate (Bobby Sr.) Seay, Ms 
Ernestine Iverson , Ms Annie Ruth (J. C.) Harvey and Ms Deborah Ann Sims; 5 
sons, Bobby Lewis Sims, Harold Sims Sr., Robert Lee Sims, McArthur Edwards and 
Charlie Will Sims; 3 brothers, Booker T. Sims, Ulysses Sims Sr., Eddie J. 
Sims; 33 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren.
