Elbert Oxford Ansley was born January 23, 1827 to Asa Ansley and Rebecca 
Wade.  He married Mary Jane Council in 1846 in Sumter County, Georgia.  Elbert 
died May 10, 1865 and is buried in the Benevolence United Methodist Church 
Cemetery in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.
