Mary Jane Council was born January 9, 1825 to Solomon Barlow Council and 
Elizabeth Blue.  She married Elbert Oxford Ansley in 1846 in Sumter County, 
Georgia.  Mary died September 25, 1889.  She is buried in the Benevolence 
United Methodist Church Cemetery in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.

Mary's tombstone is shared with 3 other family members - her husband, daughter 
and son.
