The DAR marker states: "Revolutionary Soldier Henry Harrison Hand 1776 1783 Placed by Council of Safety Chapter DAR" DAR records indicate that it was not Henry Harrison Hand, but rather his father Rev. Henry Hand, who served in the Revolutionary War. DAR records for Henry Harrison Hand indicate that he was born February 23, 1793 and so did not serve in the Revolution. Henry Harrison Hand may be the same person as Henry H. Hand who served as a private and sergeant in Bowling's Detachment, Georgia Militia in the War of 1812.
