Bradford Willis, DDS Daniel Allen: September 12, 1728 - April 28, 1807 +++ By Bradford Willis The Daniel Allen Family Register is a rather unusual document which takes the family from Daniel Allen of Scotland to the children of Anthony Garnett Smith, Jr. and Elizabeth M. Smith, pioneers of Upson and Talbot counties in Georgia. The document was created after the death of Anthony Garnett Smith, Jr. on Feb. 19, 1891. Alline Garnett Smith, the daughter of Wesley Asbury Smith, MD and Nellie Welch Smith, was the first lady to document the service of Daniel Allen (1728-1807) during the American Revolution with the Daughters of the American Revolution. In the 1940s, Alline Garnett Smith of Texas assisted Hester Beck Willis of Waco, Texas with her DAR membership application on the service of Daniel Allen. Daniel Allen's DAR Ancestor Number is A001418 in this patriotic organization. Some in the family believe that Alline Garnett Smith was also responsible for the creation of the Daniel Allen Family Register, although there is no current proof of this belief. The following is a transcription of this family register: DANIEL ALLEN'S FAMILY REGISTER Daniel Allen, the first in America, came from Scotland in the 16 century [sic], and settled in Virginia.
